Ramiz Raja, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has announced the revenues from the seventh season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), as well as how much each franchise earned in the previous edition.

"PSL 7 profits jumped to 71%, the most in its history, with each franchise earning around PKR900million [43 crore+ BDT], again the most in PSL’s history, and all before the first ball was even bowled," Ramiz Raja said in a statement on Monday.

The competition came to a close on Sunday, with Lahore Qalandars defeating Multan Sultans by 42 runs to claim their first PSL title.

The big final of the seventh edition of the PCB's showpiece event was held at the historic Gaddafi Stadium, which was sold out.

Ramiz Raja also revealed that the PCB wants to expand the PSL's fan base by holding matches in the franchises' home locations.

"For next year, we aspire to take this league to the homes of all franchises and broaden its fan reach," the PCB chairman said.
