Comilla beat Sylhet Sunrisers in a low-scoring thriller

Comilla Victorians beat Sylhet Sunrisers by 2 wickets in a low-scoring match during Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Sher e Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

Chasing 97 runs, Comilla needed to face 18.4 overs to chase down the target. Mahidul Islam Ankon played patiently to reach the target after Nahidul Islam was dismissed for 16.

Karim Janat scored 18 off 13 deliveries with 2 fours and Mominul Haque and Cameron Delport played brief innings of 15 and 16 runs.

Nazmul Islam was the pick of the bowling attack for Sylhet as he took three wickets and Mosaddek Hossain, Sohag Gazi took two wickets each.

Nazmul's spell brought Sylhet back to the game, however, tailenders kept the nerve when the match seemed headed to a tight finish.

Sylhet were wrapped up for 96 runs after being invited to bat first. Colin Ingram top-scored with 20 off 21 deliveries struck three fours and a six.

Ravi Bopara played a knock of 17 off 19 with a single boundary before getting removed by part-timer Mominul Haque. While Sohag Gazi cautiously made 12 runs as Sylhet, eventually could muster 96 runs losing all wickets.

Nahidul Islam, Shohidul Islam and Mustafizur Rahman grabbed two wickets each for Comilla.
