Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) did not take place in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, the screening of the eighth edition of BPL will start on January 20, 2022.
The tournament will end on February 20. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter to the media.
"We have made a decision so far. The BPL schedule will be played from 20th January to 20th February. We will finish in it between this timeframe,” Nizamuddin said Thursday.
Bangladesh Cricket Board last month invited Expression of Interest from reputed business houses for ownership rights of six franchises for the Bangladesh Premier League T20.
Nizamuddin said the franchises could submit teams by December 5.
According to the EOI, the eighth edition of the BPL will be a special edition to mark the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This edition has been named Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League T20.
