England all-rounder Liam Livingstone is uncertain for the T20 World Cup after suffering a finger injury in the first practice match against India in Dubai.

The 27-year-old will be monitored for the next 24 hours, and a decision will be taken whether he is fit or not for the side’s opening match against West Indies on Saturday (October 23).

He suffered the injury in the warmup match against India while attempting for a catch in the mid-wicket, he left off with the physio to address his little finger on the left hand.

The batter scored 30 off 20 deliveries and returned figures of 1-10 in his two overs with the ball, including the wicket of India captain Virat Kohli.

Livingstone was named as a replacement for all-rounder Ben Stokes, who had taken a break from cricket to focus on his mental health.

England will play another warm-up game against New Zealand before they take on West Indies in their T20 World Cup opener.
