Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan believes that even if he does get enough opportunity in IPL, it will not effect his World Cup preparations which is set to begin on October 17.

KKR all-rounder Andre Russell has been ruled out of the last four matches due to a hamstring injury. This opened the door for Shakib in the XI, he played as a replacement for Russell in the last two matches.

However, he could bat in the following matches, but the all-rounder sparked with the ball. He managed to scalp two wickets in the important matches which led the side to grab their slot in the playoffs.

"Yes, I haven't played much in the last 15-20 days. However, it will not have any negative effects. I'm working hard. Opportunity must be used. I try to contribute for the team, that's what happened,” Shakib said in a video posted on Kolkata's Facebook page.

"I was playing for Bangladesh. I have had two good series in a row against Australia and New Zealand. I have played so much cricket that it doesn't seem unusual to play now,” he added.

KKR confirmed their ticket to the playoffs of IPL beating Rajasthan Royals in their final league game.
