Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon hailed director Khaled Mahmud Sujon at a press conference after the BCB election. The BCB president considers Khaled more popular than him.
Former captain Khaled defeated cricket organiser Nazmul Abedin Fahim from the Category-3 by 37-3 votes. However, Papon blames the lack of communication with councilors for Fahim's defeat.
“I think they came down without homework. They couldn't do that, he didn't get enough time to go to the councilors. That’s why Fahim could not. There are a lot of votes and we also have to see his opponent - Khaled Mahmud,” he said.
The newly elected BCB president thinks Fahim was competing in the wrong place. Papon also said that if he stood in any other category, there was a chance of victory.
“I think he (Sujon) is more popular than me. That means he (Fahim) is in the wrong place. It would have been better to do it in more planned way,” he added.
