After arriving in Oman, Bangladesh started practicing today (Tuesday) after their one day room quarantine. Top-order batsman Soumya Sarkar is thrilled to see such green and sporting wicket.
“As I saw today, there was grass on the wicket, Perfect sporting wicket. Having such a wicket will be good for the batsmen as well as the bowlers. The ball was coming to bat in the net. If there is such a wicket for T20 cricket, it is good for hitting,” said Soumya in a video message from Oman.
The cricketers have spent time in the field to adapt to the conditions.
"We practiced here for the first time today. Tried to adapt to the condition. We have played football, net practice. All in all, the day went well. The first few days may take time to adjust to the weather. But gradually it will be covered” he added.
Bangladesh have recently played series against Zimbabwe, Australia and New Zealand. The cricketer was then rested for a few weeks. Many, however, have practiced on their own initiative during the holidays.
"Everyone is mentally ready. Everyone was in the game. We have come to play a big tournament. Everyone has come back from rest as they have good fitness. Everyone worked on fitness during the holidays” Soumya concluded.
