Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has completed 12,000 runs in international cricket and became the second and fastest player in the world to achieve the double of 12,000 runs and 500 wickets.

The 34-year-old attained the milestone during the second ODI against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday [July 18].

The all-rounder scored an unbeaten 96 runs for the side to seal the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe.

The left-hander completed the double in his 348th international appearance, surpassing South African legendary all-rounder Jacques Kallis, who required 420 matches, the only other player to achieve the feat.

During the opener ODI of Zimbabwe, Shakib overpassed Mashrafe Mortaza to become Bangladesh's highest ODI wicket-taker.

Shakib is only 17 wickets away from 600 international wickets and is likely to become the first all-rounder ever to achieve the double of 10,000 runs and 600 wickets.
