Mahmudullah Riyad, the Gazi group captain, was fined Taka 20,000 for violating the BCB code of conduct at Level 2 during their game against Prime Bank in Mirpur yesterday in the Super League stage of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division (DPL) T20 League.

After his team was rejected a caught-behind appeal, Mahmudullah expressed his displeasure with the umpire's decision.

During Prime Bank's innings, the incident occurred in the last delivery of the 16th over. After Nasum Ahmed's delivery hit the outside edge of Prime Bank's seasoned player Alok Kapali, the Gazi Group players made a vociferous protest, but the umpire disallowed it.

And it was at this point that Mahmudullah appears to have lost his calm and punched the ground before collapsing.

The veteran cricketer was spotted sitting on the ground for a while, apparently upset by the umpire's decision, before getting up and assuming his position on the field.

Gazi Group were defeated by two wickets in the low-scoring thriller.
