DPDLT20: Rabbi’s last over showdown fail to save Doleshwar’s first defeat

Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club got its first taste of defeat in the 6th round of Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 Cricket League. Prime Bank Cricket Club has risen to the top of the points table by defeating Doleshwar by 3 runs.

Prime Bank batted first after winning the toss at Ground No. 3 of Bangladesh Sports Education Institute (BKSP). Anamul Haque Bijoy and Mohammad Mithun got runs on the day. The Prime Bank captain scored 29 runs off 18 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. 55 off 50 balls with 5 fours and 1 six came from Mithun's bat.

Besides, when Nahidul Islam scored 20 and Alok Kapali scored 28 off 14 balls in the end, Prime Bank got 151 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Kamrul Islam Rabbi took 2 wickets for Prime Doleshwar. Enamul Haque Jr., Shamim Hossain, Taibur Rahman and Rezaur Rahman Raja got 1 wicket each.

Doleshwar lost the wicket of Imran Uzzaman, the hero of the previous match, in the second ball. Imran was bowled by Mustafizur Rahman. Another opener Saif Hasan could not score more than 13 runs.

Marshall Ayub (22) and Fazle Mahmud Rabbi (21) scored runs but in slow pace. They also lose wickets at regular intervals. Doleshwar lost the 7th wicket for 104 runs in 18.3 overs.

Although the match seemed to be over then, Kamrul Islam Rabbi tried saved the match. He remained unbeaten on 38 off 12 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes. Rubel Hossain had to defend 31 runs in the last over, Rabbi made 27 runs. Prime Bank won the match by 3 runs.

Mustafizur Rahman took 3 wickets for Prime Bank. Rubel Hossain and Shariful Islam took 2 wickets each and Alok Kapali took 1 wicket.
