The Dhaka Premier League (DPL) was suspended last year after just one round. After a long break, international cricket returned to the country but DPL did not return to the field. This time after more than a year, DPL is starting again on May 31.
Before the suspension, Mashrafe bin Mortaza played for Sheikh Jamal in the DPL as he was supposed to play for this team in this T20 format as well. But Jamal coach Mohammad Rafique confirmed to Cricfrenzy that the club will not get Mashrafe's service in the beginning.
The former Bangladesh ODI captain will miss due to a lack of fitness to play matches.

“We are not getting Mashrafe at the beginning. He told us he was not fit to play. But today we tried to contact him but the phone was switched off,” said Rafique.
“I hope to know by tomorrow when he will be available. As he will play the game, so he can say what his fitness status is,” added the former spinner.
Last season it was played 50 over format but this time it will be played in T20 format.
