Virat Kohli, India's captain, received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine ahead of the start of the England tour on Monday. The 32-year-old posted a photo of himself receiving the vaccine with the caption, “Vaccinate as soon as you can please. Stay safe."


Team India will very soon leave for England tour consisting of the World Test Championship (WTC) final verus New Zealand and 5 Tests against Joe Root's men starting August 4.

Earlier, senior batsmen Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane have also shared pictures of them getting their first dose of the vaccine.


After the postponement of IPL 2021 due to the Covid-19 crisis, India captain Virat Kohli joined the likes of Pat Cummins, Sachin Tendulkar as he extended a helping hand to India's Covid-19 relief work by starting a campaign for raising funds for Covid-19 relief work after the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.


Kohli, who was leading Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021, returned to Mumbai after the suspension of the league midway and started working to help provide relief to those affected by Covid-19 in the country.
