The next mission of the Bangladesh cricket team is a one-day series against Sri Lanka at home. If all goes well, the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka three-match ODI series will start on April 23. Bangladesh opener Soumya Sarkar said Bangladesh wants to play this series match by match.

Bangladesh's latest experience in ODIs is not good at all. The Tigers just shattered against the hosts on New Zealand soil. However, Bangladesh have had a great last two ODI series at home. Bangladesh whitewashed the West Indies 3-0 during their first international series in Corona pandemic. The Tigers beat Zimbabwe by the same margin before Corona.

“All the time when we are on the field to win. We will try his best in the matches too. There will be an attempt to win the first match and then the second match. Hopefully, we will play all three matches very well. And all aspects should be good for everyone. I think it would be good if those who have played Test matches in Sri Lanka, who have batted, who have bowled, can do the same line-length of bowling in this series too and give 100% of batting” said Soumya.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman, two important cricketers of the team, took leave from the Test series against Sri Lanka to play in the IPL. Both are set to return for the upcoming ODI series against the Lankans. According to Soumya, this is great news for the team.

“Shakib bhai's presence adds a lot of value to the team as he performs in all departments. So this is definitely a big side for the team. And we saw Mustafiz bowling very well in the IPL, so of course it would be a very good side for the team that they are both coming back together. Hopefully the two of them will complete the series very well” he added.
