Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will reconsider all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan’s No Objection Certificate (NOC) letter to play Indian Premier League (IPL) confirmed by BCB cricket operations chairman Akram Khan on Sunday.

Akram countered about a statement of Shakib, where Shakib said BCB officials didn’t read his letter properly about playing IPL instead of playing Test series against Sri Lanka next month while talking to a live session with Cricfrenzy yesterday (Saturday).

Shakib said yesterday “I think Akram Bhai [Akram Khan] did not read my letter properly. Akram Bhai has repeatedly said that I didn't want to play Tests, which is not mentioned anywhere in my letter.”

On this issue, Akram said to media "One of the many things I heard was that he (Shakib) gave the letter and I did not read the letter. Well, since I haven't read the letter, so I might misunderstand that he wants to play Tests. OK, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow I will discuss with everyone on the board and think about the no-objection letter. If he is interested he will play Tests, he will go to Sri Lanka Test series. And the rest is up to us to decide what can and cannot be done".

Can a contracted player say anything like that against board? About a question like that Akram said “We used to get 20-30 thousand Taka but we used to sign contracts when we were players. We never spoke against the board, we will decide on this matter in the board meeting.”

"What Shakib said in the letter is that he wants to play in the IPL instead of the series we are going play in Sri Lanka. So you know what we are going to play in Sri Lanka, we also know, everyone knows. So this word is mentioned there” he added.

However, Left-arm all-rounder Shakib was picked by IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders for Indian Rupee 3.2 crores from the players’ auction held in February.
