Joy hits maiden ton as Bangladesh whitewash Ireland Wolves

Bangladesh Emerging Team have clinched the ODI series 4-0 as the young Tigers beat Ireland Wolves by 5 runs in the fifth and final match in Mirpur Sunday. Mahmudul Hasan Joy hit his maiden List A century, which helped Bangladesh to get a fighting score of 260 runs. The first match was abandoned due to Ruhan Pretorius Corona positive result.

Ireland Wolves needed 12 runs in the last over to win. Where Rezaur Rahman Raza conceded only 5 runs to get the clean swept over visitors.

Ireland Wolves did not have a good start as they set a target of 261 for victory. Fast bowler Shafiqul Islam returned Jeremy Lawlor on team's 6 runs. Stephen Doheny, another opener, made a 97-run stand with Mark Adair after overcoming the initial push.

Saif Hasan broke the tie by returning Adair who scored 45 off 63 balls. Although Doheny scored at one end, the batsmen at the other end were in the procession. In the middle.

Doheny, who picked up a half-century, finally stopped with 81 off 99 balls. Shamim Hossain Patwari returned this right-handed batsman.

After Shamim's departure, Mahidul Islam made a partnership of 81 runs with Joy. The pair broke up when the Mahidul returned to 33 runs. Joy completed his first century in the series with 124 balls. In the end, the right-handed batsman stopped after making 123 off 135 balls.

He hit 3 sixes and 9 fours in this innings. After Joy returned to the dressing room, no other batsman could stand. Adair took three wickets and Ruhan Pretorius took two.

Joy was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant century. The young batman, who scored 285 runs with one century and two half centuries, was also adjudged man of the series.
