The general population of Bangladesh has also started taking corona vaccine from January 26. The country's cricketers will also be vaccinated on a priority basis. While there is considerable skepticism about the side effects of vaccine, cricketers are no exception.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon said the corona vaccine is not mandatory for cricketers. He was vaccinated at Kurmitola General Hospital today (Monday). Papon said "Cricketers are not being forced to take vaccine, it’s their choice."

Bangladesh will visit New Zealand later this month. BCB wants to vaccinate national team cricketers before that tour. Meanwhile, half of the cricketers on the New Zealand tour have been vaccinated for corona, Papon informed. The rest of the cricketer can get if they want.

“50 percent of the cricketers have been vaccinated by yesterday [Sunday]. The rest are a bit hesitant. The rest of the players can give their opinion by 2pm today [Monday]. In that case, they will get vaccine by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.” Papon further said.
