Mitch Marsh has been punished for his explosive outburst at an umpire during the Perth Scorchers’ BBL finals loss to the Sydney Sixers on Saturday night.
The Australian all-rounder was left fuming when umpire Sam Nogajski adjudicated that he was caught down the leg-side. He screamed at the umpire and raised his arms before leaving the field.

Marsh was charged with a Level 2 offence under Cricket Australia’s code of conduct for ‘showing dissent at an umpire's decision’, CA said in a statement on Sunday. He was hit with a $5,000 fine, which has been accepted, but has escaped suspension.
“I accept the fine handed down to me, my reaction to the umpire’s decision was unacceptable and not the example I want to be setting for any young cricketer,” Marsh said.
“I have complete respect for the umpires and the job they do. I’ll learn from this and look forward to Thursday night’s match.”
