Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque left Dhaka for Dubai this morning to have a surgery on his right thumb at the Burjeel Hospital, a Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Tuesday.
BCB chief physician Debashis Chowdhury said that Mominul will take the flight on Tuesday while he is expected to go under the knife on December 8.
‘’Mominul left for Dubai today. He is going to see doctors at Burjeel Hospital,’ said Debashish.
Mominul fractured his right thumb while fielding for his team Gazi Group Chattogram in the Bangabandhu Twenty20 Cup against Gemcon Khulna on November 28.
With a home Test series against West Indies knocking at the door, Mominul has around one month to recover from surgery and regain form before the series, slated to commence in mid-January.
