Bangladesh Cricket Board is all set to embrace new-normal life sooner than later by resuming their activities. All kind of cricketing activities was suspended since March 26 owing to the highly contagious Coronavirus pandemic.

BCB opened their official activities in the headquarters to a limited scale from Monday, just two days after a four-month corona-enforced break to stymie the spread of the COVID-19.

On the eve of the 71st birthday of Shaheed Sheikh Kamal- the eldest son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman- the BCB organised a huge congregation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur.

They arranged a daylong comprehensive programme in and out of the BCB including the recital of Holy Quran, food distribution among the poor and distressed people along with special munajat for the veteran sports organiser and his departed family members, who were the treacherous civil-military conspirators. The gruesome murder of 1975 took away the potential young life only at the age of 26.

The recital of the Holy Quran was held at the NAC ground premises since morning, while the food distribution programme started at 1:30 pm after which a special munajat was held inside the NCA as well.

BCB President Nazmul Hassan, who returned home from London after his surgical operation, joined the special programme via video conference, where he delivered a brief speech on Shaheed Kamal and took part in the munajat conducted by BCB imam.

Praising Shaheed Kamal for his immense contribution towards the country’s sports arena, Papon said that he found Abahani Club to increase a fair competition with Mohammedan Sporting Club.

“The success of sports in Bangladesh had been started through Kamal bhai, there is no doubt for anyone about it. With his family members, he was killed in the black night of August 15, 1975. We also prayed for his departed soul on this day. We all will pray for all of them,” Nazmul Hassan said in his brief speech.
