Newly Married Tigers Celebrate Eid amid COVID-19

Global pandemic novel coronavirus has brought the entire world into a standstill. While it has postponed every sporting events across the globe, it has affected several people and claimed as well.


However, amid this situation, there are a few Bangladesh cricketers who have started their second innings in life. But, unfortunately, they have to celebrate with at home only owing to the COVID-19 imposed lockdown in the country.  


While left Handed batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto got married in Rajshahi, Mehidy Hasan tied the knot in Khulna. Their teammate Sadman Hossain got hitched in Dhaka and Mosadekk Hossain in Mymensingh that too within the last one month.


While the first Eid after marriage becomes special always, the newlywed cricketers failed to enjoy the special occasion because of COVID-19.

Young promising left-handed batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto got married to Rajshahi university student Sabrina Sultana a few days back and currently spending time at home. 


“The situation is not good because of Corona. For this, we are not able to go anywhere. Although I wanted to go for a tour with my wife, I am not feeling bad for not able to go. It is better to spend time with my family members,” Nazmul said while sharing his Eid plans.


However, Nazmul wanted to keep his marriage a secret but widely known off-spinner Mehidy Hasan has revealed the news to everybody. 


“No one knew about marriage. Miraj leaked the news. At the time of Corona I wanted to get married only in the presence of my family members,'' Mehidy said.


However, Mehidy’s mother is critically ill for the last few months and she wanted to see his son getting married as soon as possible.


“Marriage was also needed. My family has been trying for my marriage for a long time. The timing was also good. Mom wanted to see my wife. She also deserves happiness and my marriage happened according to my mother’s wish,” Mehidy added.


Specialist Test batsman Sadman Hossain has been very busy after his marriage as his family is traditionally involved with cow business. Sadman is currently busy with the business but is planning to spend time with his family in the Eid days as well.


''I had known her before. We have spent time together before as well. Even after the marriage, it is the same. But recently, I got very busy with our farm after marriage and didn't see her much. But, I want to spend Eid with her. '' Sadman said.
