Nawaz gets three years extension-BCB

The Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Tuesday that extended the contract of Naveed Nawaz as National Under-19 team head Coach until 2023.
Nawaz won the maiden ICC trophy for the country by guiding his charges to win the Under-19 World Cup under his guidance.
He was responsible for overseeing Bangladesh Under 19 team programs and prepared the side for the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup 2020 in South Africa.

BCB also extended the contract of Under-19 strength and conditioning coach Richard Stonier until 2022 that was known when the Englishman came to social media platform and announced that he is delighted to get extension till 2022.
We had taken the decision earlier that those who are working on our Under-19 World Cup have done a great job and we will continue to work with them,’’ said BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury on Tuesday.
‘’We had already made the decision to extend the contract with the youth team coaches and other staff now it's officially done, so maybe he[ Stonier] gave it. The contract with them has been extended till 2022 and 2023 respectively,’’ he said.
‘’They did a great job. They brought a trophy like World Cup for Bangladesh Cricket. We had a plan to keep everyone and as part of which the contract with them has been extended. Richard Stonier and head coach Naveed Newaz both of there contract has been extended.
A former international cricketer for Sri Lanka and an accomplished first class batsman, the 44-year-old Newaz has been involved in different coaching capacities since retiring as a player in 2004. He was Sri Lanka Under 19 Head Coach from 2009 to 2014 and also worked as a Batting Coach for the Sri Lanka Emerging Players Squad in 2014-15. Newaz is a Cricket Australia High Performance (Level Three) Coach.
BCB game development manager AEM Kawser said that BCB is planning to use Newaz in other game development project as well in the coming days as his contract runs until 2023 and looking forward to it.
