Former Pakistan's crowd-popular skipper Shahid Afridi announced on Thursday that he has tested negative for COVID-19. Shahid Afridi came down to his Twitter handle and confirmed that he and his wife along with his two daughters have tested COVID-19 negative.

“Alhamdulillah, my wife & daughters, Aqsa & Ansha have re-tested after our previously positive results for #COVIDー19, & are now clear. Thanking u all for your continuous well wishes, & may the Almighty bless you and yours. Now back to family time; I’ve missed holding this one,” Shahid Afridi wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, Afridi informed his fans and followers that he had tested positive for COVID-19 through a Twitter post on June 13.

The former leg-spinning all-rounder has been providing his assistance to the people of Pakistan who are facing the most distress due to the coronavirus pandemic situation through his foundation 'Shahid Afridi Foundation'.

Afridi, dubbed 'boom boom' among his countless fans across the world, also bought the double centurion bat of veteran wicketkeeper-batsman of Bangladesh Mushfiqur Rahim to support him in his noble work.

Afridi made his debut for Pakistan back in 1996 and played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is for the national team. He has scored 1716, 8064 and 1416 runs respectively in Tests, ODIs and T20Is.

His more than handy leg-spin bowling earned him 48 wickets in Tests, 395 in ODIs and 98 in T20Is. Pakistan team also played the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup under his leadership.
