Even though Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently launched a dedicated corona app for its players to monitor their health and track the Covid-19 symptoms of the players but the future stars of Under-19 and women cricketers are still unaware of it.
The app is called COVID-19 well-being app which the BCB centrally contracted 30-35 players can use this app as well. Besides under-19 cricketers and women, cricketers will be eligible to use the newly-launched app.
The app was launched on June 25 under which every morning cricketers have to answer 18 questions about their health-related activities in this app.
Under -19 Captain Akbar Ali told Cricfrenzy.com that they have heard about this app but they have not been brought under it yet.
The U-19 Opening Batsman Parvez Hossain Emon echoed the same as Akbar Ali, stating that they haven’t been informed about it.
But another U-19 spinner Hasan Murad spoke differently as he expressed to Cricfrenzy.com that he has heard about this.
“They have taken my email, phone number. However, they haven't yet brought us under the app,” Murad said.
However, Women team captain and pace bowler Jahanara Alam said they have also heard about this app but they have not yet included it in this app as she feels BCB will start this app with men’s crickets first.
“I’ve heard about this app. However, I haven’t come under it yet. BCB will probably start with the boys first and then bring us and the youth team’s cricketers. I’ll then fully understand,” Jahanara told Cricfrenzy when asked about this app.
Women team ODI captain Rumana Ahmed also talked like his fellow team Jahanara Alam while talking with the leading web portal.
“I heard about the app a few days ago. Most likely BCB doctor Debashis Da suggested launching this app so that they can keep the track about us. However, we’ve not yet come under it. BCB has not given us this app yet,” Rumana Ahmed said
