Even though Liton Kumar Das believes in luck, the wicketkeeper-batsman of Bangladesh team said hard work is even more important than it is in the game of cricket.

It is believed by everybody that cricket is a game of uncertainty, wherein the team who will do better in a given day they have every possibility of winning the day’s game against the rival side.

“I earlier used to think a lot about luck basically when it’s in cricket, luck is a must,” Liton Kumar Das said.

“But now I feel that one can change his luck by practicing. I used to believe that luck is not supporting me, what else I can do. Now, I think that if I had practiced more two years ago, the chance of being successful would then have been higher than expectation,” Liton told Cricfrenzy.com.

Liton is having a dream run with the bat as he smacked the highest individual score by any Bangladeshi batsman in one day cricket before the COVID-19 pandemic for the national team.

The keeper-batsman revealed that he was inspired by Shakib Al Hasan’s fitness level during the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in England. As of now, he said he wants to have fitness as the previous world number one all-rounder.

“I used to be happy after completing the practice session, believing yes, I’m fine. But I decided I will not bat less. From then on, whenever I saw the nets empty I started batting again. I used to request the coach to let me bat after everyone is done with the nets,” he said.

“From there, I started to see changes in me, in my fitness and batting especially after seeing Shakib Bhai whose fitness was so good during the World Cup. I was more determined towards my fitness after that and it probably played a part in my performance,” he added.
