Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Wednesday that they will introduce an Under-21 platform to groom the current ICC Under-19 World Cup champions.
It was a unique move taken by the BCB considering lot of age-group cricketers get lost in wilderness despite showing their potential in the age-level tournament.

BCB president Nazmul Hasan made the announcement while attending the press conference at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium with World Cup winning skipper Akbar Ali and coach Naved Newaz beside him along with others.
‘’We have decided to introduce a new platform- Under-21- to groom these cricketers as we have seen lot of cricketers getting lost after showing potential in the Under-19 level,’’ Nazmul told reporters at the crowded press conference at Mirpur on Monday.
‘’This contract is renewable even after the 24-month period because if we see they are performing as per our expectation than we will carry on otherwise we will not,’’ he said adding that they are proud with the achievement of their golden boys.
