BBPL fixture is a little bit bizarre- Gibson

Cumilla Warriors head coach Ottis Gibson said on Monday that they are he still feel they have a chance to go a long way in the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League.
Warriors are currently placed at fifth position with eight points and if they can win the remaining three matches they can always push themselves for a place in the play-off as they have a good run rate.

‘’We have given ourselves a great opportunity to do well. We got three more games. Sylhet has not had the best tournament,’’ said Gibson.

‘’So tomorrow against them, maybe another good opportunity to get a win and the last two games, against Khulna, if we beat Khulna twice, maybe we take over them and get ourselves in the semi-final zone. And from the beginning we are aiming to do,’’ he said.

‘’Yeah, a little bit[ bizarre fixture]. But at the same time, it could turn out to be good for us. If we need to beat them twice and get into the semi-finals and it is in our hands. And we know what we got to do. And if we lose the first game we will have another opportunity in the next game. We don’t have to be dependent on anybody else. It is just us versus them,’’ he said adding that the return of Dawid Malan will give them huge boost.
‘’It is a big thing for us. Because he is our best player. He has been the best batsman in the tournament. And to have the commitment he has shown to come back means you know what it is. He is in good form first of all. It means he is committed to help us to get into the semi-final and that is important,’’ he said.
