‘’Come on bowl into the box’’ that is what Pakistani pace bowler Mohammad Amir tried to teach pace bowler Shahidul Islam during their target bowling session of the Khulna Tigers pace bowling unit at the BCB academy premises on Wednesday.

Khulna Tiger’s batsmen had a good time in the nets but that too against their spinners and net bowlers while the pacers of their squad had an intense target bowling session under the guidance of Mohammad Amir.

The Pakistani pace bowler will be taking the major responsibility in the Khulna Tigers camp and the way he was getting him involved it looked obvious that he knows that he not only needs to deliver but have to guide his pace bowlers as well.

Amir is surely a master when it comes to the shortest format and probably a reason why he retired from Test cricket but why he is such a cunning bowler was highlighted during the training session where he looked to make sure that he is totally prepared before the opening game of the BBPL.

He looked completely dejected whenever he was pitching the ball on the wrong length or line and looked doubled motivated to make sure he does not repeat the mistake in the middle when it matters.

‘’He was telling Shahidul to bowl in the right area when he is trying to bowl a fuller yorker,’’ Khulna Tigers bowling coach Talha Jubair told Cricfrenzy regarding their training session.

He tried to say that if someone bowls fuller yorker but still away from the off-stump that will not be effective as the batsman will score him off but if[ the fuller yorker] it is close to the off stump than the room is very limited,’’ he said.

Talha, the former national pace bowler turn coach, added that for Amir bowling high-arm is very important and the Pakistani was also insisting that young bowlers should learn to bowl with high arm action as that will give them an edge over others.

‘’He is very good at bowling slower and he got two ways to do that and it looks that he is quite comfortable with both of them and what I feel was his strength is to release the ball at the last moment,’’ said Talha.

Tigers will open their account against Chattogram Challengers and they will be hoping that Amir delivers them not only with his bowling but with his experience as well.

‘’He is a very experienced campaigner and certainly, we want that he should guide our bowlers as well,’’ said Khulna Tigers team director Khaled Mahmud.

‘’We are hoping that he will deliver as per our expectation,’’ he added.

For Amir playing in BBPL always seemed to be lucky as he was picked for the Pakistan team after playing in the BPL in 2016 when he came back from ban after five years because of match-fixing in BPL.

The Pakistani looked geared up to make sure that he uses this BBPL platform to the fullest so that he is well in course when he wears the national jersey in the next ICC World Twenty20.
