Zimbabwe has been suspended from ICC

Zimbabwe has been suspended from the ICC with immediate effect after finding that the country's' cricket administration was not free from government interference.
Zimbabwe Cricket has been stripped of ICC funding and their national cricket teams will not be allowed to take part in any ICC tournaments this decision was taken in a board meeting in London on Thursday.
Zimbabwe Cricket was found in breaching the Article of 2.4 (c) and (d) of the ICC constitution, which articulates that all the Members must provide "a process for free and democratic elections and to ensure that there is no government interference in its governance and administration for cricket respectively.
The ICC will discuss the situation about Zimbabwe Cricket at the next board meeting of the governing body in October.
ICC chairman Shashank Manohar said it is a serious breach of ICC rules and regulations and they can't allow this practice to continue. That's why they have decided to suspend Zimbabwe.
:“We do not take the decision to suspend a Member lightly, but we must keep our sport free from political interference. What has happened in Zimbabwe is a serious breach of the ICC Constitution and we cannot allow it to continue unchecked." said Shashank.
“The ICC wants cricket to continue in Zimbabwe in accordance with the ICC Constitution” added Shashank.
