Fielding is my Passion : Sabbir
|| Desk Report ||
Sabbir Rahman has been the best fielder of Bangladesh for quite some time now. His energy in the field is really remarkable. Sabbir enjoys his fielding as much as batting.He said,
“Fielding is my passion. I like to field while playing. I don’t think it’s less important than batting. In match or in practice, I really enjoy fielding. If my fielding doesn’t go well, everything goes wrong. If my fielding is good everything seems good.”
Sabbir was in the squad for the all of tri nation matches so far, but he didn’t get any chance to prove his worth with the bat till now. So, Sabbir is trying to give all of his efforts in fielding.
Fielding is all about enjoying yourselves, all of the best fielders in the world like Jonty Rhodes, Harchelle Gibbs, Ricky Pointing, AB de Villiars have always believed this mantra. But Bangladesh’s outfield is an obstacle in getting one’s skill developed as a better fielder.
“Look at the outfields here, it inspires you to dive in the field. But in our country club grounds don’t have outfields like this. Doing well in fielding is very hard. But as fielding is my passion I worked hard on it.”
Batting and bowling are individualistic things in cricket. But fielding is a team effort. I great dive on the boundary, one spectacular catch or one quick run out can change the whole complexion of the game. Sabbir gives fielding equal importance as batting and bowling.
“Sometimes fielding is not given as much importance as batting or bowling. But I have always given it the same importance. Speed and dive comes automatically while fielding. I like diving in the field.”
