Cricket is turning into baseball, says Sam Curran

Punjab Kings stand-in captain Sam Curran believes cricket has turned into baseball as his side made history by successfully chasing 262 runs in a T20 game against KKR at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
This remarkable feat broke several records, including the highest successful run-chase in all T20s, not just in the Indian Premier League.
Reflecting on the game, which saw a total of 42 sixes – most recorded in a T20 game, PBKS’ stand-in captain Sam Curran said cricket is turning into baseball with how it's evolving through T20 cricket.
He also admitted that despite leaking over 260 runs in the first innings, Punjab deserved to win, given how they calculated and executed the run chase.
"Cricket is turning into baseball, isn't it? It was absolutely incredible," Curran said at the post-match presentation.
"Where do we [start]? Absolutely delighted with two points. Games like that are out of the world, but most importantly we've had a tough few weeks as a team [this was the Kings' first win in five games], but we've really hung in there. We've taken teams down to the wire and, I think, forget about the scores... I thought we actually deserved victory,” he said.
Curran praised how Jonny Bairstow made a comeback after a series of low scores, which led to his being dropped from the team. Bairstow returned in place of Liam Livingstone and got cracking in the massive chase. He stayed unbeaten on 108 off 48 balls with eight fours and nine sixes.
"Really pleased for Jonny. He's obviously been on tour for a really long time. A couple of games out of the side, he looked like he came back really eager to score runs for the team and showed what an amazing player that he is. So, I'm really pleased for him," he added.
