Nepal and Oman have qualified for the 2024 men's T20 World Cup after securing respective semi-final matches in the Asia region qualifiers.

Oman convincingly defeated Bahrain by ten wickets, while Nepal overcame a challenging chase to beat the UAE by eight wickets.

Oman's Aqib Ilyas played a crucial role by taking four wickets for just ten runs, helping restrict Bahrain to a total of 106 for 9. Openers Kashyap Prajapati and Pratik Athavale then comfortably chased down the target in under six over.

In Nepal's match, spinners Kushal Malla and Sandeep Lamichhane delivered economical spells, holding UAE to a score of 134 for 9.

Vriitya Aravind managed a half-century, but received little support from his teammates. Nepal's opener, Aasif Sheikh, played a match-winning, unbeaten innings of 63 to secure victory, creating history for his team.

The upcoming edition will be hosting 20 teams for the first time. The teams will be separated into five teams of four groups with the top two from each group qualifying for the Super 8s.

18 teams have secured qualification so far for the tournament. The last two spots will be decided from the Africa Qualifiers, to be held from November 22 to 30 in Namibia.

Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad & Tobago, will host games along with three venues in the USA – Dallas, Florida and New York.

The final of the 2024 T20 World Cup is slated for June 30, 2024.
