Bangladesh's national cricket team arrived in Dhaka on Saturday following their Asia Cup campaign. The Tigers landed at 11:30 a.m. at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The Tigers managed to reach the Super-Four stage in the Asia Cup by beating Afghanistan in the group stage. However, they faced two defeats against co-host Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Super Fours which eliminated them from the tournament.

The sole success in Bangladesh's record book is the narrow six-run win against the mighty India in the last encounter of the Super Four game which is also their first triumph over India after 12 years in the Asia Cup.

Bangladesh allrounder Mehidy Hasan was content with the win against India and said it will give them confidence ahead of the ODI World Cup.

“A lot of achievements in two wins against Afghanistan and India. The way the players played cricket in the last match and the way the youngsters came forward; Tanzim made his debut and bowled very well. The lower orders never scored so many runs. But in this match, they showed their ability by making a comeback. It is very positive for the team,” said Miraz.

"Alhamdulillah, we won the last match. We won the match, it will give us huge confidence. As India is considered the strongest team in the tournament. This will help us in the next step in the upcoming World Cup. We are very happy,” he added.

Bangladesh are going to host New Zealand for a three-match ODI series as a preparation ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
