New Zealand are set to play their first Test of the two-match series in Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in November-December as SICS will host to its first Test match in five years, which will be held on 28 to 2 November, according to Cricbuzz.
The visitors are scheduled to play the last Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.in Dhaka from December 6 to 10.
Seven One Day Internationals and eight Twenty20 Internationals have been played in Sylhet so far, but no Test match has been played there since hosting a Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in November 2018.
Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, the director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board and a board member from Sylhet Division, confirmed the matter to Cricbuzz on Friday.
"We are expected to host the opening Test of the two-match series against New Zealand in November-December and this will be quite a big occasion for us as we will be hosting a Test match after five years," Shafiul told Cricbuzz.
A four-member representative board from New Zealand Cricket (NZC) arrived in the country and paid a visit to the venue in Sylhet on May 31.
Meanwhile, New Zealand are scheduled to play a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh in September this year according to the FTP.
