BCCI announces squad for Asia Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed India's squad for the Asia Cup 2022 on Monday as Rohit Sharma will head Team India in the mega event, which is due to begin on August 27 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Asia Cup 2022 final will be held on September 11 in Dubai.

On August 28, India's campaign in this year's tournament will begin with a heavyweight encounter against archrival Pakistan.

The Men in Blue want to avenge their setback in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and establish their dominance in the preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, which will be held later this year in Australia.

Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the squad due to a back injury. KL Rahul will be the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team in the Asia Cup 2022. Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are the two wicketkeepers on the side.
