Bangladesh opening batter Naim Shaikh and pacer Ebadot Hossian are set to join the Bangladesh ODI squad in Zimbabwe.

The players will take a flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:45 pm on Saturday to join the injured Tiger camp in Harare.

Speaking to the media Ebadot said he was happy about his surprise call-up into the ODI squad. He also said that his side should not be defined as a bad team for "one bad game".

“Alhamdulillah, first of all, I want to thank Allah. It is a little surprising to get a call in ODIs. Really happy. If I get an opportunity there, I will try to make use of it,” said Ebadot.

“Of course not. As an ODI team, we play very well. One or two matches does not make us a bad as team. Alhamdulillah, we are good enough as a team. There are two more matches, if we win two matches the series will be ours,” he added.

Right-handed batter Liton Das has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series after sustaining a hamstring injury during the first ODI.

Mushfiqur Rahim and pacer Shoriful Islam have also incurred minor injuries, however, BCB physio said that their availability is subject to fitness.

Bangladesh are trailing by 0-1 after going down in the first ODI against Zimbabwe.
