After losing the first Test by seven wickets, Bangladesh will look to rebound strongly in the second Test against the West Indies on Friday at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia.

Batters failed to impress Antigua when they were dismissed for six ducks in the first innings and were unable to recover in the second.

Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh's freshly appointed Test captain, hit a fifty in each innings, while the other batsmen failed to support him. Shakib has stated after the first match that the batters should come up to end their ongoing Test catastrophe.

Kemar Roach, the hosts' top pacer, took five wickets in Bangladesh's second innings in the first match. To get a favorable outcome, the Tigers must perform well against him.

The Tigers may make several adjustments in the second game. Mominul Haque, the left-handed batter, has been failing to do well for a long time. In his last 10 innings, he suffered four ducks and failed to reach even a single two-digit total.

Bangladesh's former captain may be forced to withdraw from the second match. If the team management decides to give him another chance, Najmul Hossain Shanto may have to make way for Anamul Haque Bijoy, who has been added to the squad for the second Test.

Shanto has also been having difficulty for a long time. Despite several strong beginnings to innings, he has been unable to turn those innings into big innings.

Along with Bijoy, the left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam may be given a shot in the second Test. Bangladesh's limited-overs teams included the pacer. However, he has been added to the Test squad as well.

Bangladesh featured three pacers in the first match, Mustafiuzr Rahman, Khaled Ahmed, and Ebadot Hossain. To make room for Shorfiul, team management may rest one of the pacers.

This series is a part of the ICC World Test Championship. Bangladesh has only one win in this event which came against New Zealand earlier this year.

West Indies will have the opportunity to leapfrog Pakistan in the ICC World Test Championship point’s table. The host team is now sixth in the standings with 42 points, two points behind Pakistan.

After the two-match Test series, both teams will lock the horns in a three-match ODI and three-match T20I series.
