Bangladesh batter Anamul Haque Bijoy hopes to leverage his domestic cricket experience in the upcoming second Test against West Indies.

Bijoy was called up to the Test squad as a replacement of Yasir Ali Rabbi who was injured in the lone practice game and ruled out of the Test series.

The right-handed batter made his debut in 2013 and last played a Test match in 2014. He has only played four Tests so far.

"It's a great experience for me to have played first-class cricket for so long. Every cricketer has a dream that he will be experienced and use his experience. I am also hopeful that the experience will be useful and I will be able to contribute for the country,” Bijoy told reporters at St Lucia on Wednesday.

''These kinds of things [averaging well in first-class cricket] always give me confidence at the back of my mind that I could take myself to a place from where I can see these things and it always boosts me up and it is in the back of my mind and it will help me and this is a big experience for me because I have played first-class cricket for so many years,''

The top-order failure had been a major concern for the tourists, Bijoy said he was determined to make to the final XI for the St. Lucia Test.

''What I am thinking is that if I get a chance I will try to give my best and so that I can help in putting a good score in the scoreboard for the Bangladesh team. It is very important that we must prevent the falling of early wickets as well as keep the scoreboard moving and that is very important for me,'' he added.

Bijoy has been in sublime form as he broke all sorts of records by scoring 1138 runs from 15 matches with two centuries and nine fifties in a single DPL season.
