Bangladesh pace bowling coach Ottis Gibson feels the New Zealand batters have underestimated the Tiger fast bowlers. He lauded the seamers for their disciplined bowling throughout the Test.

The coach also heaped praises on the right arm spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz for contributing 47 runs that ensured a 130-run lead over the Kiwis. He also bagged three wickets in the first innings.

“Look, I don’t know. I think we rely heavily on our spinners, and if the wicket suits them, they will get wickets. But he (Miraz) has done a great job holding the game,” said Ottis on Tuesday.

“And the seamers, I don’t know, maybe the New Zealand batters probably underestimated us. But we have been disciplined, what we have shown over the course of two days for me as a bowling coach is fantastic,” he said.

Bangladesh seamers took all the five wickets during the second innings that reduced the hosts to 147-5. Eabadot scalped four wickets while the other one was taken by Taskin Ahmed. The coach stated that the bowlers would play with the same discipline and attitude on the final day.

“We come tomorrow, and we show the same discipline and same attitude that we had over the last two hours especially and see where we go. But we are not gonna get ahead of ourselves. We know what’s at stake. So we will keep it as simple as we can and try to be disciplined and take wickets like we have done and see how the game unfolds for us later on,” he added.
