New Zealand scored 147 for 5 wickets, taking 17-run lead at stumps on Day 4 during the first Test at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Tuesday.

New Zealand batters Ross Taylor and Rachin Ravindra were unbeaten on 37 and 6 runs respectively at the close of the day's play. 

Ebadot Hossain was the pick of the bowling attack as the pacer took a four-for conceding 39 runs including 4 maidens in his 17 overs. 

Taskin made the first blow when he bowled skipper Tom Latham for 14 runs and the last innings centurion Devon Conway (13) edged Ebadot onto his pads and was caught by Shadman Islam. 

Ebadot continued his attack to remove Will Young (69) and Henry Nicholls (0) in the same over. Tom Blundell also got out in the following over as the hosts lost three wickets for no runs right after taking the lead.

Bangladesh had built a 130-run lead before their first innings folded for 458 with half-centuries for Mominul Haque (88), Liton Das (86), Mahmudul Hasan Joy (78) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (64).

Bangladesh resumed on 401-6, the visitors were able to add only 57 runs to their overnight score.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 47 to put on 75 for the seventh wicket with Yasir Ali Rabbi (26).

Earlier, Bangladesh wrapped up the Kiwis on 328 runs in their first innings with Shoriful Islam and Miraz taking three wickets each, while Devon Conway smashed 122 for the hosts, which is also the first ton at home.
