Mominul takes responsibility for top-order failure

Bangladesh Test skipper Mominul Haque has taken the responsibility for the top-order collapse in the first Test against Pakistan on Tuesday.
Bangladesh's top order failed to put on a solid performance, which included young batters like as Saif Hassan, Shadman Islam, and Najmul Hossain Shanto, as well as the lone experienced player Mominul Haque.
During the first innings, the four batters managed to score 39 and 24 in the second innings. After such a performance Mominul took responsibility on him for the batting failure.
“I am also in the top order. Everyone else in the top order was inexperienced, I was the only one, who played more than 40 matches. So, I am taking the responsibility on myself,” said Mominul in the press conference.
“We - from number one to four - failed. I would say I should have batted with more responsibility. If I could play big innings at number four, we could have gone in a good direction. If you lose 4 wickets in 10 overs in any format of game, then no matter how hard you try, even if you make a 200-300 run partnership, it will not be a good score. It is difficult to bowl on 330 at a flat wicket. We were able to come back to the game because of Taizul,” he said.
Mominul opined that pacers should learn to bowl better on flat wickets and that more four-day matches should be played to bring about changes in their fast bowlers.
“I believe it's important for the pacers to learn how to bowl on flat wickets. For this, they have to play more four-day games. In India, pacers play a lot of first-class matches. Our pacers have to do so and learn the art of bowling on unresponsive pitches," he added.
