Tigresses face defeat against Thailand

Bangladesh Women lost their third World Cup qualifiers game against Thailand by 16 runs under the D/L method on Thursday.

While chasing the target of 177 runs by Bangladesh, the opponents managed to score 132 for 2 wickets in 39.2 overs before the rain interrupted the match.

Opener Sornnarin Tippoch was the highest run-getter, who scored 69 runs off 113 deliveries with seven boundaries for Thailand.

Fahima Khatun and Nahida Akter took one wicket each for Bangladesh Women.

While batting first Bangladesh posted 176 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Bangladesh made a shaky start then Mushida Khatun hit 46 off 80 aided five boundaries.

Murshida added 84 runs with Fargana Hoque for the third wicket partnership. Fargana smashed a fifty before getting dismissed on 51 from 81 balls with six 4’s.

Bangladesh lost their momentum following their dismissal only Rumana Ahmed (27) and Lata Mondal (29) played brief innings to go across 150-run mark.

Nattaya Boochatham bagged a fifer and returned figures bowling seven overs with 5 wickets and two maidens leaking 26 runs.
