West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder on Thursday replaced injured pacer Obed McCoy in the 15-man West Indies squad.

McCoy has sustained a shin injury which ruled him out of the remainder of the tournament in the UAE. The technical committee of the T20 World Cup approved the change.

Holder has been with the defending champion West Indies squad in the United Arab Emirates as a traveling reserve.

“Jason Holder has been in the UAE for a while now and will fit quite well into the team unit. He is an experienced and knowledgeable cricketer who we know will be eager and excited to grab the opportunity,” said CWI lead selector Roger Harper.

The all-rounder will be available for selection for the Windies' game against Bangladesh in Sharjah on Friday.

Meanwhile, West Indies have lost both their matches, as they were bowled out for 55 and lost the opening game to England by six wickets. South Africa then notched a comprehensive eight-wicket win against Kieron Pollard-led West Indies.
