Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the batsmen as Saif Hassan, Nazmul Hossain Shanto and captain Tamim Iqbal picked up half-centuries in the practice match at CMCG, Katuanayake.

Bangladesh is playing a warm-up match divided into two teams ahead of the upcoming Sri Lanka series.

Tamim and Saif, the two openers got off to a great start by batting. Tamim picked up a great half century in the first session. The left-arm opener left the field scoring 63 runs.

The right-handed batsman Saif scored 52 runs, left the field voluntarily after picking up a half-century. Apart from Tamim and Saif, The left-arm batsman Shanto was unbeaten on 52.

Praising the batsmen, Nannu said, “The wicket was difficult to bat in the first hour. Our openers Tamim, Saif have batted well, Shanto, Mushfiqur also did well. The bowlers tried their best to get used to the wicket. I believe we received good feedback from this practice match. They will be able to fully prepare for Test cricket after the end of the game tomorrow.”

On the other hand, the bowlers Ebadat, Shahidul Islam and Shoriful Islam could not shine on the first day. However, Nannu believes that the bowlers will adapt to the wicket on the second day.

"It has been a very difficult session for the bowlers in the practice match here. The wicket and condition ... The bounce is good enough, as it's a lot like a flat track. Maybe there will be similar conditions in the test, it is very important to keep the ball in a good place and to stay focused. I think there is one more day left tomorrow for practice. I believe our bowlers will get used to it very soon. It will be enough to prepare before the match."
