After taking a 171-run lead in the first innings, Bangladesh made 47 for 3 in their second innings. At the end of the second day, the lead stood at 218 runs. Left arm spinner Taijul Islam said 250 runs would be good enough to win the first Test against the West Indies.

As the time rolls during the Tests, the more the teams dominate. Evidence of this was found on the third day of the first Test against the West Indies as 10 out of 11 wickets were occupied by spinners. On the fourth day, the spinners' game will be even more difficult for the batsmen.

Chittagong's spin-friendly wickets are always difficult to bat in the third and fourth innings. The batting average in the third innings is 235 and the average in the fourth innings is 203 at this venue. Although the target would be to score 300-350 runs.

Although they bowled well at the beginning of the day, the bowlers of Bangladesh could not get much advantage in the middle. The Caribbean’s also indicated that they would surpass the 430 runs scored by Bangladesh. However, the bowlers stopped the West Indies with a few runs for the benefit of the spinners by consistently bowling in one place. "It's important to consistently bowl in one place to be successful in Test cricket," he said.

"When we bowled poorly in the first session, we planned to force them into taking risks."Thankfully at one point we got the breakthrough but this is how Test cricket is. There will be long periods when you will wait for wickets but when it does arrive, a few more follows,”Taijul said.
