Visitor West Indies have already faced 3-0 whitewash against Bangladesh before their two-match Test series, which is scheduled to be played in February. Rahkeem Cornwall as known as ‘mountain man’, who is part of the Windies Test squad aims to win the first Test and turn the table for the Caribbeans.

27 years old spin bowling all-rounder Cornwall made his debut against India in 2019 and took 3 wickets in a single match. He has been selected for this tour with a comparatively inexperienced squad and the board expects he will boost the strength of bowling department. He wants to win the first match of the series and wishes to give good cricket for his countries people.

“At first we have to get a win. If we can win the series, it will be good for West Indies cricket. I hope we will give good cricket for our country’s fans.” said Cornwall after the practice session on Tuesday.

The whole Windies side came to Bangladesh on 10th January and passed three-day isolation in the team hotel. After that they had few trainings before the ODI series. So, they are coping up with the condition and Cornwell, who took 13 wickets from 3 Tests, said the pitches are little drier from their home soil.

“Yes, it [training for long period] is helping. You have to adapt to this condition. It is difficult to play cricket in this condition. Not too much [the pitch condition], here the ball spins a little more. A little drier here than in the Caribbean. We have to adapt to it and give our best.”

The first Test will be played on January 3 in Chattogram and then the teams will fly back to Dhaka to play the second Test from 11th January.
