Each country has its own aura of playing cricket and introduced their unique style which developed them as a cricket brand. In countries like India, Australia or England, they are at the forefront of their own cricketing brand. Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal hopes his side will create its own brand of cricket.

Bangladesh has improved in ODI cricket in the last few years but they have not been able to attain the charisma. However, the left-handed opener said in official virtual press meet on Tuesday, always wanted to form a brand of cricket of own without following a foreign country.

“I always focus and give importance to building own style of cricket, each country has their individual style. I don’t think we should follow anyone else. Many have said that we are not as strong as the West Indies. We have many advantages that others do not have in the team. So I want to create a Bangladeshi brand of cricket without following anyone.” Tamim said.

Tamim did not have a proper chance to prove his captaincy amidst the pandemic, although he took over the captaincy about 10 months ago, he has not yet made his debut. However, before taking the field in the international arena, he was the captain of the BCB President's Cup and Bangabandhu T20 Cup.

Hosts Bangladesh will take on the Caribbean side in the first ODI of the series at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Wednesday.
