Squad announced for ODI series against WI as Shakib returns

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced an 18-member squad for the three-match ODI series against the West Indies on Saturday as Shakib is waiting for his return after a year-long ban.
Off-spinner Mahadi Hasan and pace bowlers Hasan Mahmud and Shoriful Islam are the uncapped players in the squad.
Hasan, who took 4 wickets in the first warm-up match, was expected to be in the ODI squad. Experienced spinner Taizul Islam is also in the team.
Tamim Iqbal did not get a chance to prove himself after taking the ODI leadership. With this West series, the difficult test of his captaincy is going to start. Right-arm opener Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar got included as Tamim's partner. Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who shined in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup, has also been included in the squad as an alternative opener.
Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mustafizur Rahman and Rubel Hossain are the regular faces of the squad. Despite suffering a hand injury a few days ago, Taskin also got a place in the ODI squad against the Caribbean.
The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur will hold the first two matches on 20 and 22 January while the third and final ODI is at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on 25 January.
