If we want to win the tournament we have to win close games- Mithun

Gazi Group Chattogram skipper Mohammad Mithun said that they need to win close matches if they want to be champions in the ongoing Bangabandhu T20 Cup.
Gazi Group Chattogram put up a collective effort to secure their straight third win in the Bangabandhu Twenty20 Cup as they defeated Fortune Barishal by 10 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Monday.
Shykat Alis late cameo 11-ball 27 helped Chattogram post 151-7 while Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam took three-wicket each to restrict Barishal to 141-8.
Chattogram were struggling at the halfway point in their innings as they kept losing wickets in regular intervals but two cameos from Mosaddek Hossain and Shykat helped their team to go past 150 runs which proved enough for a win.
‘’The way the team have played is very impressive. Everyone has done their job pretty well, especially Saikat Ali, who was playing his first match but batted really well and I am happy with his performance,’’ Mohammad Mithun was quoted after their third successive win.
‘’Although we thought to stay in the middle, we lost a few wickets in quick succession early in the innings,’’ he said.
‘’If we want to win the tournament we have to win close games too. Bowlers did exceptionally well and we will have to depend on what we have,’’ he said.
Pace bowler Shoriful Islam, who picked three wickets, said that he is elated to contribute to their win
‘’I am feeling great as we have done well since the beginning. The captain as well as the coach has supported us well. I hope I could carry my momentum throughout the tournament, although Mirpur’s wicket is tough to predict,’’ said Shoriful.
‘’We were confident that we will get the chance to do well. Actually, we had a good start with the ball which helped us to win the game,’’ he said.
