The Bangladesh High Performance (HP) team is set to tour Australia for a three-match series starting on July 13 as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will send a total of 22 cricketers, including players from the national team and the HP squad.

The initiative is part of BCB's preparation for the national team's tour of Australia in 2027.

After the official photoshoot of the HP team in Mirpur today, Naimur Rahman Durjoy, the head of the HP unit and a BCB director, told media, "This is a significant opportunity for our players. Some national team players are also included in this tour because our 2027 tour to Australia will be in Darwin as well. This tour serves as a preparation for them too."

According to the ICC's future tour program, Bangladesh is scheduled to tour Australia in March 2027 to play a two-match Test series. Bangladesh last toured Australia in 2008 and played their last Test there in 2003.

Several national team players will be part of the HP team's tour, including Shadman Hossain, Mahmudul Hasan, Shahadat Hossain, Afif Hossain, and Shamim Hossain.

"Often we see our new players debuting in unfamiliar environments. To avoid that, the HP program includes a tour every year," Durjoy added.

Bowling coach Corey Collymore will serve as the head coach for the HP team's Australia tour.
