Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir is set to join the Falcons' squad for the final six Vitality Blast group fixtures.
Amir will join Derbyshire's bowling lineup after the ICC T20 World Cup. The Head of Cricket of Derbyshire Mickey Arthur, expressed his excitement about Amir's signing.
“The addition of Mohammad Amir to our T20 bowling ranks will give us a real boost for the second-half of the group stage, and he will be a key member of our attack as we look to progress.
“Since we found out he’d be going to the World Cup, we’ve been keen to make sure he is back with us for what is a key run-in in the Blast and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to get this over the line," Arthur said.
Arthur heaped praises on the left-arm pacer and named him 'Porche' in white-ball format.
“I’ve often described him as the ‘Porsche’ of white ball bowlers, he’s a world-class player in this format and I’m looking forward to working with him again,” he added.
